It's great for running virtual machines too.
I also have an android tablet on a mount that works as a 4th touchscreen monitor, I rarely use it for that though.

You get used to it, Its great for using multiple virtual machines at once. I don't think I could do without it. Back when I used 5 monitors I set up Source FIlmmaker so that I had animation set editor on one screen, two viewports on another two, timeline on the fourth and element viewer on the fifth.

Taskbar on the right is a ton more convenient for me, plus, I don't like the aesthetic look of the taskbar when it's on the top or bottom.
