Lol.

Do you not know how video games are made? Large teams still work day in and day out to produce it.

Lol, maybe their marketing team is large and works hard. Their development team rehashes the same game every year and then circlejerk to the millions they make by doing it.

Life is not a commodity

No. It may not be a completely original game (and I'm sure they may reuse certain models and animations) but creating a game of that scale is an immense project. Countless models have to be visualized in 2D and then built, UVed, and textured (ranging from your main characters to an empty can lying on the side of the road), numerous cinematic and mechanic animations have to be produced, scores have to be written, and then it all has to be pieced together and problem solved by the programmers. Everything in the game you see someone has to make.

Doing animation/modeling/texturing/programming/level design/painting/other various positions for a AAA game is freaking hard work. It also has to be done in a crazy timeline. Those companies push their employees to the edge.

Fuck you guys, I don't care about the game.

I'm just waiting for the Eclipse to come.

and BTW Disney, being in a marketing class, Jared is telling you the straight truth, people make things solely for the target market, sure ok timelines and stuff, but it is part of the marketing strategy that their doing. If they really were working "Hard" on the game, a new game would be out every 3 to 5'ish months. Want to know why?

Look at L4D2. When the released L4D1 they were like alright lets take a break, and as soon as they announced it or when ever there were rumors about it happening, it literally came out within the same year as it was announced/rumored.

Games and films are in production WAY before being announced.

I guess you didn't read the rumor part, and still it was only a year that had past when ever it was released. I'm 100% sure that they didn't start making l4d2 right after finishing l4d1.

Anything else you want to debate?

Well the debate was whether or not CoD titles are hard to make. If you wish to argue in favor that they aren't, I'm going to assume you don't have a very good understanding of video game production.

And therefore all your arguments are invalid.

Do you or do you not understand the production of video games? The assumption was based off your crazy idea of making a game like CoD not being hard work.

You obviously don't understand either. Making a game in itself may be as you call "hard work" but you realize they don't go to certain lengths to make it where their blowing their minds out to make this game as good as it can be.

And if you so call it "hard work" they would go beyond their working skills to actually take time and development into a game which they "oh so dearly are working desperately hard for" and to make it the #1 of any game that has come out.

and my crazy ideas? lol...I'm pretty sure I'm going off of what is true.

and look, the human race is combined with people who are lazy and greedy, I'm pretty sure the ONLY reason why their still making CoD Games and not maybe venturing off to some other series is because they're only in it for the money(for a title that is still recognized by the general gamers.). They work for the money, they go home to their families and then they rest. Rinse and Repeat.

There is nothing in it for them except maybe pride and definitely money.

There is a difference between Hard Work and Work hard.

I do know the production of video games and I know most production of products out there. It all comes down to one aspect, Who.

It's all the same. I'm guessing you never look around when actually playing certain game and if you see any similarities between games. If you actually open your eyeballs and actually observe and think for once in your life you wont be so stubborn.

There is most definitely pride in working on one of the biggest entertainment franchises of all time. If you're employed by a company like Infinity Ward or Treyarch, you've worked your tail off and are great at what you do -- you're not going to let your work slack because it's a recycled title. If you're in game development, you're most likely there because you do take pride in your work and are not just there for money. I'm sure they would love to work on some interesting new game, but the company that employes them doesn't agree. CoD titles are massive games, and they take equally massive teams. If I contributed a model, animation, texture, etc to a game like CoD (even if I personally don't like it), I would most certainly be prideful about it. That's a huge accomplishment.

Anyways, you're allowed to form your own opinions. I was merely posting the one I've gained from my knowledge of the industry.
